Metals Position Paper and Press Release on Circular Economy
The combined European metals industry looks forward to an ambitious Circular Economy Package supporting growth, innovation, competitiveness and jobs. Some challenges and opportunities to an improved circular management of metals are described in the common position paper "Boosting the circular management of metals".
Seeking a better recognition of the role of metals in the context of the Circular Economy, the Association of European Producers of steel for packaging (APEAL), the European Steel Association (EUROFER), the European Association of Metals (Eurometaux), Metal Packaging Europe (MPE) and Metals for Buildings (MFB) have come up with a Joint Metals Press Release.
1st Workshop of PPA-Europe
On 26th February 2015, the European Association for Panels and Profiles organized at its premises from Krefeld the workshop "Correct measurement". Practical guidelines on the right way of checking the dimensional characteristics of the sandwich panels and of the metallic profiles were given by Dipl.-Ing. Markus Tresser from the German research center "Karlsruher Institut für Technologie(KIT) Versuchsanstalt für Stahl, Holz und Steine", a very active third-party of our EPAQ scheme.
ECO-EPDs for sandwich panels and metallic profiles
During its first official annual conference on 16th October 2014 in Brussels, the ECO Platform (www.eco-platform.org), umbrella organization comprising various (national) EPD program operators in Europe announced the launch of a new EPD logo. The first “ECO-EPDs“ were awarded to declaration owners of the various programs. PPA-Europe got, in the event, the ECO-EPDs for:
- Sandwich panels with polyurethane core
- Sandwich panels with mineral wool core
- Profiled sheets made of steel for roof, wall and deck constructions
Thanks of ECO-EPD, PPA-Europe members can use their sector EPD around almost, all European countries, without an extra cost.

ce de pa inauguration in Tudela, Spain on July 7th
DOW and SAIP built a new sandwich panel line in Tudela, Spain (near Zaragoza) for everybody who wants to test new foam systems, new insulation materials, machine components or anything else regarding sandwich technology. The new line which belongs to the new company cedepa which is only founded to run this project is a missing link between research and production.
Manufacturers can rent the line to test new ideas without stopping their own production at home. The possibility to rent the line is not limited to clients of DOW and SAIP but open for everybody.
