Meeting of the IFD Façade Commission
On 2nd October the Façade Commission of IFD, International Federation of the Roofing Trade, met in Linz, Austria before the Austrian “ÖFHF Themenabend” on ventilated façades.
The IFD Façade Commission works on a new IFD guideline on maintenance for rear ventilated façades. This work could be finished on this meeting. The guideline will be published next year.
Other main topics that have been discussed were green façades, fire tests on PV systems on façades and the new Construction Products Regulation, CPR, and its impact on kits.
The members gathered in Linz came from Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary and Finland. PPA-Europe is member of this commission.
EUROPEAN CONGRESS 2025
The 17th European congress on sandwich panels and cold-formed metal profiles will be held on 16th and 17th October 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic, organized by PPA-Europe and IFBS.
The 2025 annual congress will start on 16th October at 13:00 hrs. and will end on 17th October at 14:00 hrs. The congress venue is the Hotel Vienna House by Wyndham Diplomat Prague.

Official handover of the new EPDs of PPA-Europe
Last week, in the framework of the Trade Fair for Constructions “BAU 2025” in Munich, Mr. Stefan Zwerenz, IBU, officially handed over the new Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) of PPA-Europe to Dr. Ralf Podleschny. Our four collective EPDs deal with:
- double skin steel faced sandwich panels with a core made of mineral wool,
- double skin steel faced sandwich panels with a core made of polyurethane,
- profiled sheets made of steel for roof, wall, deck and ceiling constructions,
- profiled sheets made of aluminium for roof, wall and ceiling constructions.
